Over a Century Building the Future

In the midst of the uncertainty that surrounded Europe, Giovanni Mini made the courageous decision to migrate to Guatemala, carrying with him the hope of a new beginning. Upon his arrival, he joined the construction of railway lines across the country, saving every quetzal he earned with a single purpose: to establish his own sawmill.
With the capital he had accumulated, he co-founded his first sawmill, combining his skill and passion for wood with an entrepreneurial spirit. When his partner expressed the desire to return to Italy, Giovanni seized the opportunity to acquire his share and take full command of the project.

Already at the helm of the company, he unfolded his vision through memorable milestones: commissioning the construction of Guatemala’s first wooden roller coaster and executing the fine carpentry work of the National Palace. These achievements demonstrated the power of transforming challenges into historic accomplishments.
Driven by that same passion, he turned his attention to lands others had dismissed—deep ravines with unstable soils. With determination, he undertook the challenge of filling them and converting them into usable plots, planting the seeds of what we now know as Grupo Apolo.
The Second Generation carried forward this transformative legacy and broadened the horizon: they strategically acquired land banks in areas with high demographic growth potential, investing in future urban centers that, over time, would become vibrant communities.
When the Third Generation assumed leadership, it understood that true value does not lie in hectares or buildings, but in the people who inhabit them. From this conviction, our philosophy was born: “Co-creating evolution by developing cities”—a commitment to designing environments that elevate quality of life and foster pride among those who call them home.
