CEO – Gea Capital
Juan Mini is the CEO of Gea Capital, an investment firm based in Guatemala City. Gea Capital is composed of five divisions: Venture Capital, Private Equity, Brokerage House, Banking, and Portfolio. The firm seeks companies with disruptive business models in the national and global financial industry, and works to develop the public securities market in Guatemala. With an active role in the growth of the companies it supports, Gea Capital operates with a long-term vision, generating sustainable high value over time.
From 1998 to 2002, Juan was the founder and CEO of ZipRealty in California, a pioneering company in online home sales in the United States market.
Juan joined Grupo Apolo in January 2003. From 2006 to 2014, he served as CEO of the group, where he led emblematic initiatives such as the Technology Campus (TEC), the largest technological innovation ecosystem in Latin America. From 2014 to 2020, he served as COO of the group, supporting its operational expansion. In 2020, he founded Gea Capital, shaping a new group vision and consolidating both the family group’s existing investments and new strategic ventures.
He holds a degree in Civil Engineering with honors from Cornell University, a Master’s in Innovation from Stanford University, and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. Juan is married and the father of three children. He enjoys nature and sailing in his free time.
